Janet Fitterer

Meet Janet Fitterer, teacher for sixteen years at this studio, and hear what she has to say, why she loves teaching:

Piano lessons?  My first teacher was a cheerful, talented college student.  My next one was a neighbor, then a minister's wife.
As I progressed, I realized how happy my music made me feel.  I loved it all...patriotic songs, popular songs from the 1020's through the 1950's, music written by Bach, Chopin, Beethoven and Mozart, hymns, waltzes and tangos.
I studied for three years with Morris Nanton, a tremendously talented pianist who performed throughout New Jersey and New York with his jazz trio.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance from Kean University, studying with concert pianist Carol Ferri (also well known in her field.)
Helping others to train their ears, eyes, and fingers in the art of piano technique is what I love to do now.  Having Janet tell of her enthusiasm for teaching piano in her own words expresses exactly the feeling she brings to each and every lesson.

Janet also substitutes for vacationing organists at various churches, and accompanies with background music at private parties. (Sing-A-Longs always available.)
